The National Moment of Remembrance

In 1997, NGL initiated The National Moment of Remembrance, which asks every American to pause at 3 p.m. local time, wherever they are on Memorial Day. This special tribute is moment of reflection and remembrance that unites us as one nation in this one moment. In 2000, Congress made the National Moment of Remembrance the law of the land (Public Law 106-579).

The Price of Our Freedom

Involves students K-12 in putting patriotism into action! This project reminds them of the sacrifices made for their freedom and who gave their lives for us, and build on the idea that in working together we can make our country stronger and better.

Laughter Command

This effort develops special projects and events that promote laughter to maintain our troops morale by sending them a touch of home with humor wherever they are.

Task Force Calendar

Since 1976, this specially designed calendar is given as a gift to children who lost a loved one in service to our country and to our troops as a daily reminder that they are not forgotten. These poster-sized calendars are designed by world-renowned syndicated cartoonists.
