What follows are the remarks of President Bill Clinton in regard to the Special Operations Forces memorial and No Greater Love:

“Our Special Operations Forces possess a special strength of character.  They accept danger along with duty, hardship along with hard work.  They operate alone or in small units, in places far from home, on missions of extreme importance, complexity and secrecy.  Their contribution to this nation’s security far exceeds their relatively small numbers – and so does the magnitude of their sacrifice.

The No Greater Love remembrance ceremony is a mark of our respect for those who proudly put their national above themselves.  The tree that No Greater Love is dedicating is a living tribute to their memory: May its roots be embraced by the soil they so cherished; may its branches offer shelter to the weary and the weak.  The memorial stone is a testament to their loyalty and courage: May we draw from it the strength to shape a future worthy of their sacrifice."
